Our Bare-Bones Rookie Stained Glass Class

Join our hands-on Suncatcher Workshop at Caveman Glassworks—perfect for beginners who want to learn stained glass basics and take home a finished piece. In this three-hour session you’ll create a colorful suncatcher using the copper-foil (Tiffany) method. We supply all materials and tools.

Suncatcher Workshop Cost & Materials


The cost for the Suncatcher Workshop is $90 plus tax, which includes all materials and supplies needed to complete your project. No prior experience is required. For a full overview of what we’ll cover during class, please see the Class Outline.

​What You’ll Learn in the Suncatcher Workshop

During this workshop, you’ll learn the basic skills every stained glass artist needs:

  • Cutting and shaping stained glass

  • Applying copper foil to glass pieces for clean seams

  • Soldering techniques for strong, smooth connections

  • Finishing and polishing for a professional look​

 

By the end of class, you’ll not only understand the bare-bones basics of stained glass but also have a handmade suncatcher to display proudly.

  • Duration: 3 hours

  • Tools, supplies, pattern, and glass provided

  • Skill Level: Perfect for beginners — no prior experience needed

  • Take-home: A completed stained glass suncatcher, ready to hang in your window

  • Youth Policy: Children 13–17 years old (and 18-year-olds still in high school) must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian. A liability waiver and safety form must be completed by parent or legal guardian and submitted to Caveman Glassworks at time of registration and payment.

Liability Waiver & Youth Participation Requirement

​

Participation in any Caveman Glassworks class, workshop, or event requires a signed Liability Waiver on file for all students, participants, parents/guardians, and attendees.

  • Ages 15–17 (and 18-year-olds still in high school):
    Must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian. A parent or legal guardian must complete and sign the Liability Waiver prior to participation.

  • Under age 15:
    A parent or legal guardian must remain in the classroom at all times and is fully responsible for supervision and care. Caveman Glassworks reserves the right to remove any child for unsafe or disruptive behavior.

 

No participant will be permitted to begin class until the required waiver is signed and on file. Waiver forms will be available at registration or on the first day of class.
