Simple Enough a Caveman Can Do It

About Caveman Glassworks
Veteran-owned stained glass studio in Centerville, Texas
At Caveman Glassworks, we design, build, and restore stained glass with the same care we’d give a family heirloom. Founded by Paul Urteaga, our studio combines traditional craftsmanship with friendly, transparent service—so you always know what to expect and what it will cost before we start.
What we do
-
Custom stained glass for homes, offices, gifts, and places of worship—panels, suncatchers, boxes, ornaments, and more.
-
Repairs & restoration for stained-glass panels and Tiffany-style lampshades (by appointment).
-
Classes & workshops for beginners and hobbyists who want to learn at a comfortable pace.
Our background in service
Before relocating to Centerville, our team supported a church-based stained-glass ministry in the Houston area, where volunteers learned the craft while creating pieces that supported outreach. That experience shaped our studio values today: teach patiently, build with integrity, and use art to lift people up.

Q: Do you repair stained glass and Tiffany-style lamps?
A: Yes—repairs and restorations are a specialty. We match glass, remove damage, and resolder clean lines. Many small repairs run $35–$65 per damaged piece, depending on size, access, and glass match. We provide a clear estimate first. Caveman Glassworks
Q: Do you make custom stained glass? How is pricing determined?
A: Yes. Custom work is priced by size, glass type, and complexity (more, smaller pieces = more time). We collaborate on design, select glass, and quote before work begins. Caveman Glassworks
Q: Is there a design fee for custom orders?
A: A $50 design fee starts the pattern work and is applied to your final total if you proceed. If the order is canceled during the design phase, the fee is non-refundable. Caveman Glassworks
Q: What’s the typical custom order process?
A: Planning (your ideas + our input) → Design (pattern + your approval) → Glass selection → Quote → Build with progress updates. Caveman Glassworks
Q: What stained glass classes do you offer?
A: Beginner-friendly classes including a Suncatcher Workshop, Beginner Copper Foil, Mosaic Stepping Stones, and Intermediate Stained Glass. No experience needed for beginner sessions.
Q: What should I expect in a beginner class?

A: Visit CavemanGlass.com (Classes/Blog) or contact us to be added to the next session.
Q: How long do repairs or custom orders take?
A: It depends on complexity and glass availability. Small repairs can be quick; multi-piece customs take longer. We’ll give an ETA with your estimate. Caveman Glassworks
