To Repair or Not Repair

Many studios and individual artisans shy away from repairs; it's hard to find someone with the experience and patience to do them right.  At Caveman Glassworks, repairs of stained glass and Tiffany-style lamps are one of our specialties.  However, we do not repair leaded glass doors or windows.  Check out our Google Reviews on repairs.

If your stained glass is cracked, chipped or faded, it can be repaired or restored rather than being discarded. Stained glass is delicate and needs to be handled carefully, or you can lose the entire piece.

What to Expect with a Repair

If a couple pieces are cracked or chipped, a skilled craftworker can replace them individually. The craftworker will seek to obtain the matching replacement glass or obtain the best possible match (with the approval of our client), cut the pieces to size, remove the damaged and install the new ones.

If the damage goes beyond just a cracked piece or two, you’ll need a more extensive restoration depending on the style of your piece.  For instance, a hanging window piece or Tiffany style lamp shades, involve varying methods of repair.

How Much Does Stained Glass Repair Cost?

A ballpark figure? Anywhere from $35 to $65 per damaged piece.  Depending on the complexity of the job, stained glass repair and/or restoration costs anywhere from a few dollars to several hundred dollars.

The price is based on the extent of the damage, the size of the piece, the difficulty of removal of damaged glass and installation of new glass. Caveman Glassworks is experienced in handling various stained glass repairs and restorations, ensuring high-quality workmanship and attention to detail. We understand the importance of preserving the beauty and historical value of stained glass, offering competitive pricing without compromising on the quality of our services.
